EUROPE UPDATE
A couple of done deals to report from Europe, now.
Firstly, PSV have sold Uruguayan forward Ruben Bentancourt to Atalanta for estimated fee of 250k.
However,
Goal deputy editor
Jonathan Birchall spoke to one of
Konoplyanka's representatives earlier today and the outlook is not good for
Liverpool fans.
Indeed, the deal is on the verge of collapse, with the winger's current club,
Dnipro, reluctant to sell the
Ukraine international.
Our story from earlier:
Konoplyanka deal on the verge of collapse
KOP-OPLYANKA?
Meanwhile, the big name (and it is quite a long name, for sure) on Liverpoolfans' lips is Yevhen Konoplyanka, who may or may not move to Anfield before midnight... just like a lot of other players, I guess.
This one is different, though, with the club officially in Ukraine to conclude a deal for the winger.
RUMOUR
We'll have to wait and see on that one - but Stoke City could be in action sooner rather than later.
Further to Gus Poyet's comments earlier, Sunderland are understood to have accepted a bid from Stoke for midfielder Lee Cattermole.

But will
Southampton be bringing anybody in today?
One more, maybe, Poch?
The move is a loan deal until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal in the summer worth €19M (to be paid in 3 installments).
And when asked if he missed Italian football, Osvaldo replied:
"I can honestly say I have, yes. When I initially left I was happy to embark on a new and exciting experience in England but in the end it became something I missed."
Osvaldo said...
"It was pleasing when I first heard of Juventus' interest in me. When everything was completed last night I sat down and I couldn't believe it.
"As I said before, it's been a pretty hectic three or four days but I'm happy."
DONE DEAL
Dani Osvaldo has joined Juventus on loan from Southampton.

DONE DEAL
Pablo Armero joins West Ham on loan from Napoli until the end of the season.
Now we brought you the news earlier that
Frimpong has joined
Barnsley from
Arsenal - here's a #dench picture of him at his unveiling.

Sticking with Fulham for the moment, let's have a closer look at new signingKonstantinos Mitroglou. He is one of only six players to score a hat-trick in this season's Champions League (only one player, Andy Johnson against QPR in 2012, has scored a Premier League hat-trick for Fulham). The 25-year-old has scored a goal, on average, every 58 minutes in the Greek Super League. By contrast, the Cottagers' topscorer in the league, Steve Sidwell(yes, that Steve Sidwell), has netted every 384 minutes.
DONE DEAL
Manchester United loan defender Tom Thorpe to Championship sideBirmingham City until the end of the season.
DONE DEAL
And, just like clockwork, Fulham confirm the signing of Greek forwardMitroglou.
Now, it's not often you get a manager asking their club's owner to spend LESS money, but that's exactly what
Tottenham boss
Tim Sherwood has done. He's urged Spurs chief
Daniel Levy to stay out of the transfer market today - something that no doubt the tough negotiator will find very hard indeed,
Sherwood: I've told Levy - 'No more signings'
It was reported in Spain earlier that West Brom are keen on a loan move forEspanyol forward Thievy Bifouma, well Baggies have now confirmed Pepe Mel's interest via the club's Twitter page.
Kemp adds on any other potential dealings at Crystal Palace: "A striker is obviously a target. We are looking to sign one, but I can't announce anything at this stage. There are a number of deals ongoing. I'd like to sit here and announce we've done more, but they are ongoing at the moment."
TOM INCE LATEST
Crystal Palace technical coach Dave Kemp has been talking about their proposed move for Blackpool attacker Tom Ince. He is quoted on their official Twitter feed as saying: "Tom Ince is close but I'm not in those negotiations so I don't know where that's at."
QPR UPDATE
ESPN Brazil are reporting that
QPR keeper
Julio Cesar will NOT be leaving this month. They claim player was approached by
Sunderland and
Gremio, but that he wasn't interested enough in either offer and the negotiations died out. The reports suggest the club would be willing to let Cesar leave for free, but his high salary is putting off potential buyers, and the player is not willing to take a pay cut in order to get more playing time elsewhere.

GLOBAL GLANCE
- Diego Ribas could be on his way from Wolfburg to Atletico Madrid in a loan deal today, the player telling Kicker: "We are just talking about the possibilities. But it is no done deal yet." He has not been included for his current club's match with Schalke tomorrow.
- Mathieu Delpierre joins FC Utrecht from 1899 Hoffenheim on a free transfer, signing until the end of the season. They also sign Fernando Quesadfrom Barcelona's youth academy on a 3-and-a-half year deal.
- Barcelona B forward Munir El Haddadi has renewed his contract until 2017. The buyout fee if the player continues at Barca B will be €12m (£9.8m) rising to €35m (£28.71m) if he becomes part of the first team.

Brendan Rodgers to secure a deal for
Yehven Konoplyanka,
according to the player's agent. He told
Goal: "We are still working but the problems aren't coming from the player. The club don't want to sell him at the moment. We aren't sure about whether we will find a solution but we are working."

MANCHESTER CITY UPDATE
Things have been ominously quiet at the Etihad so far today - indeed Manuel Pellegrini has nothing to report yet but suggests it might not stay that way all day, telling reporters: "For the moment, there is no transfer news. There may be business but I have no news at the moment."
DONE DEALS
Arsenal academy defender Daniel Boateng has joined Hibernian on loan for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool's young striker Michael Ngoo has been loaned to Walsall.
Cardiff confirm Craig Conway joins Blackburn Rovers on a two-and-a-half year deal.
DONE DEAL
Everton have completed the signing of 17-year-old goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek from Sparta Prague on a two-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.
*INTRIGUE KLAXON*
Jose Mourinho has been speaking to reporters ahead of Chelsea's clash withManchester City on Monday evening. When asked about his club not pursuing a top quality striker in January, the Special One had this to say:
"Many people don't understand why we don't do [business on a striker] but, in the summer, you will understand."
Suitably cryptic. Does this perhaps mean the reports of a swap deal withAtletico Madrid involving Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois are true?
DONE DEAL
Barnsley have completed the signing of Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
DONE DEAL
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of
Saint-Etienne defender
Kurt Zoumaon a five-and-a-half year deal.
He will spend the rest of the season in France before moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Our full story will appear

ANTI-TRANSFER NEWS
David Moyes has confirmed that Manchester United will be making no more signings in the January transfer window.
"You can stand down your TV cameras at the gates," he told reporters. "I don't think they'll be required. We've done our business."
Our Q&A is now wrapped up, folks, thanks very much for getting involved. Fear not, though, - we've got some HUGE Arsenal news on the way ...
DONE DEALS
AC Milan have made official the loan signing of Adel Taarabt until the end of the season, with Fulham also confirming their agreement with QPR has been terminated. Meanwhile Cottagers defender Aaron Hughes joins QPR for the remainder of the campaign.
Q&A: @Freddie_Yoshi asks: "Is it true that Lfc are close to a new signing in tis transfer window."
GS: "Yes. The only target for Liverpool today is Yevhen Konoplyanka and the Ukrainian forward is the sole focus for Brendan Rodgers. The Reds have seen off Tottenham’s interest in Konoplyanka and are expected to get the deal completed today for £16m, but there are still details to iron out."
Q&A: @CechNgetich asks: "Do you think
mata will help #mufc to defend the epl title?"
GS: "Far too late for that, Peter, and there are huge weaknesses in the
Unitedsquad that need to be addressed, especially in central midfield. I still think they will struggle to finish in the top four."

Q&A: @bhavinm91 asks: "With the bottom six in EPL having done most of their business, who do you see in the bottom 3 come the end of the season?"
GS: "Good question. It’s so tight at the bottom now, especially since a few clubs have made managerial changes. Fulham have done good business in the transfer market but I don’t think they have enough players with the right mentality for a relegation scrap. I think the Cottagers will go down along with Cardiff and one other side. It’s so hard to call but I think Norwich will also get dragged into the bottom three."
Q&A: @abious2 asks: "What are the chances of MUFC completing any deals by the deadline tonight"
GS: "I’ve spoken to a well-placed source at Manchester United today and they aren’t expecting to do any business. David Moyes only wants to sign stellar players - as he has with Juan Mata - and is ready to wait until the summer. The question now is whether Mata’s arrival is enough for United to finish in the top four."
Again just away from the Q&A with Greg we've got some BIG news for
Manchester United fans;
EXCLUSIVE:
Toni Kroos' agent dismisses United links. "There's nothing in it at all, it is just rumours," a spokesperson told
Goal. "There's nothing to talk about."
Just away from the Q&A for a moment - we have some
West Ham news. Their assistant
Neil McDonald has played down talk of
Ravel Morrison leaving this window, with theses quotes coming via the club's official Twitter feed.
"I would imagine Ravel will be staying until I'm told otherwise," he said. "He has been training and is a creative player who we will need."

Q: @GeorgeSessions asks: "is a striker Tottenham's only priority and is it certain that Lamela won't leave now? Cheers."
GS: "Tottenham want a striker, left-back and winger - but they are happy to wait until the summer to land their top targets. With a huge squad, Tim Sherwoodalso wants players to leave before he strengthens the squad. A short-term forward to replace the outgoing Jermain Defoe is the priority today, but there are now suggestions that Monaco will gazump the Londoners’ attempts to re-sign Dimitar Berbatov. Erik Lamela’s representatives explored a return to Italy earlier this month but were told he will not be leaving. Sherwood is a fan of the Argentine and I’d expect him to be more involved when he returns from injury."
THE ENGLISH TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 12 HOURS …
Q: @tukaiayanbh asks: "arsenal bringing anyone??? if yes then who?? Any chance of 2 players???
GS: "Arsene Wenger wants to sign a striker and a midfielder today. It looks like the Gunners have failed to agree a deal for Julian Draxler so they are looking at Miroslav Klose and Alvaro Morata as potential loan options to strengthen their attack. Injuries to Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey mean Wenger wants a central midfielder but I’m not sure he will be willing to pay £15m-plus forSouthampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. There’s a lot of talk about a loan move for Kim Kallstrom, a deal that would make little sense to me given they need an all-action type of player."
Q: @Rishi_Maz23 asks: "Berbatov seems to be the player in demand.Spurs orMonaco???"
GS: "Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood would have woken up this morning expecting the club to re-sign Berbatov on loan from Fulham - but word of Monaco’s interest will worry the powers that be at White Hart Lane. The Ligue 1 club need a forward after Radamel Falcao’s serious knee injury and have the money to blow Spurs out of the water. The big issue for Fulham is that they need to wrap up their £11.5m move for Kostas Mitroglou before they allow Berbatov to leave."
One more RUMOUR before we start;
The Daily Mail are reporting that Dimitar Berbatov is set to join Monaco today - more on that if it develops of course.

Greg Stobart in the online building and we're about to host a question & answer session on anything & everything transfer related. Get your questions over to our

Reports suggest Kim Kallstrom's dad is not clued up over any potentialArsenal move, however, with him allegedly indicating that the player is currently in Abu Dhabi with his current club.
TRANSFER TALK!
With
Arsene Wenger ruling out a move for
Julian Draxler but insisting
Arsenal are likely to bring in one new face today, the rumour mill is in full flow. The
Daily Mail reports that they have opened talks with
Spartak Moscow over a deal for
Sweden midfielder
Kim Kallstom. Elsewhere the
Daily Telegraphclaims
Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and
Barcelona's Christian Tello are targets.

GLOBAL GLANCE
Levante have signed French midfielder Mohamed Sissoko on a free transfer after his contract ended with PSG last summer. Sissoko previously played in La Liga with Valencia between 2003 and 2005, whilst he has also turned out for the likes of Liverpool and Juventus.
ITALY LATEST
Southampton striker
Dani Osvaldo has landed in Turin this morning - he's due to have his medical over the next few hours before officially joining
Juventus.

Solskjaer also indicated he is now done in terms of bringing in new faces, but may still allow players to leave: "My phone is ringing and I am answering most of them. Maybe some players will go out on loan, but we are done with signings."
THE ENGLISH TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS IN 13 HOURS ...
DONE DEALS
Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed the signing ofManchester United duo Fabio and Wilfried Zaha, after securing the services of Kenwyne Jones earlier in the window.
"We have added three new players this week - Fabio, Kenwyne and Wilf," he told reporters. "They have energy and enthusiasm and presence - together they complement my squad and I am happy with what I have now."
WENGER RULES OUT DRAXLER SIGNING
The Arsenal manager has revealed the club will NOT be singing Julian Draxlerthis window, adding to reporters: "The Draxler situation has been created by the newspapers, not by me. He will stay at Schalke."
And more from a confident
Wenger: "I'm confident we will bring someone in today. It's 80/20 per cent chance."

Despite it being deadline day Wenger still seems confident of bringing someone in, adding: "80 per cent of the activities happen on the last day. I would scrap the winter transfer window with ease."
ARSENAL UPDATE
Manager Arsene Wenger is currently speaking to reporters in a press conference, and has confirmed the Gunners are still looking for a late signing: "We are still trying to bring one body in because of Ramsey's setback andFlamini's suspension."
TRANSFER TALK!
According to
Sky Sports Crystal Palace are planning a double deadline day swoop for
Blackburn defender
Scott Dann - who is having a medical at the
Premier League side - and
Celtic midfielder
Joe Ledley - for whom they've had a bid accepted.
Capoue also hit out at boss
Tim Sherwood for playing him out of position: “I am not surprised. It is the English way. They don't know much about foreign players.”

FERNANDO TO CITY UPDATE
More from Paul Clennam: "Fernando has been told by Porto that they are ready to sideline him with the reserves until the end of the season to send a message to the rest of the squad that they do not appreciate being held to ransom.
"Agent Jorge Mendes has been involved in the brokering. Fernando only wants City and the Premier League club want him now, so the cash they offer might creep up a little as the day goes on."
FERNANDO TO CITY UPDATEOur man
Paul Clennam has some more info on
Manchester City's pursuit of
Porto midfielder
Fernando -
which we reported about here last night.
"Porto are angry at City and their player. They had agreed a new deal with Fernando worth £50k-a-week, but City have now offered Porto a cash option of £3.5m - half of what they want for a player out of contract this summer."
More from
Chicharito's agent: "We hope that he gets minutes [before the end of the season]. Then, after the
World Cup, God will tell us what will be the next step."

POLL UPDATE
Today we're asking you which January transfer target you would most like to see in the
Premier League -
with a number of options to pick from - but at the moment there is only one winner;
Julian Draxler with a MASSIVE 68% of the vote.

DONE DEAL
Sunderland have let Alfred N'Diaye leave on loan to Real Betis for the remainder of the season.
Just as things were threatening to quieten down (for now, at least) we get hit with another BIG rumour!
Le 10 Sport in France are reporting that
Tottenham are negotiating a loan deal for
Nani with
Manchester United.
Good move for Spurs? Presumably any answer to that would come with a big 'if'.

More from Pochettino, who this time rules out a transfer for central midfielder and reported Fulham and Swansea target Jack Cork.
“He is a very important player for us. There’s no possibility of him leaving.”
So that's that.
SOUTHAMPTON UPDATE
Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino is speaking to the media right now ahead of Saturday's Premier League visit to Fulham and is, unsurprisingly, getting a lot of questions about deadline day and Dani Osvaldo in particular.
"I enjoy [deadline day] but I'm calm," he says. "Twenty-four hours is a long time in football.
"We'll be analysing what other clubs are doing but we know that our squad is already good enough.
"At the moment, there's no news [on Osvaldo] but a lot of things can happen at that time."
And speaking of
David Ngog, here's some reaction from
Jonjo Shelvey - a former team-mate of his at
Liverpool and now reunited at
Swansea City - on the striker's fortunes, past and present.
Shelvey backs Ngog to flourish at Swansea
