They claim player was approached by Sunderland and Gremio, but that he wasn't interested enough in either offer and the negotiations died out. The reports suggest the club would be willing to let Cesar leave for free, but his high salary is putting off potential buyers, and the player is not willing to take a pay cut in order to get more playing time elsewhere.

Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino is speaking to the media right now ahead of Saturday's Premier League visit to Fulham and is, unsurprisingly, getting a lot of questions about deadline day and Dani Osvaldo in particular.
"I enjoy [deadline day] but I'm calm," he says. "Twenty-four hours is a long time in football.
"We'll be analysing what other clubs are doing but we know that our squad is already good enough.
"At the moment, there's no news [on Osvaldo] but a lot of things can happen at that time."
